I Voted, Did You?

Originally, I was planning not to vote.  I live in Texas after all, and while I don't exactly have political affiliations, it's pretty clear to me that a majority of the people who live in this state don't share my views on a lot of things.  So what harm would it do not to vote?  Then I really thought about it.  If everyone thought that their vote didn't matter, then no one would vote, and if no one voted, why did we bother with this whole democracy thing to begin with?  And of course, if you don't vote, you don't get to bitch about who's in office. 

Let me just tell you, this whole early voting thing?  Is awesome!  Sure, I stood in line (granted, a moving line) for an hour on Friday.  But if I'd waited until today, I know I wouldn't have voted.  So YAY Texas on that one.
