I will be moving this blog elsewhere in a little while. Given that I only post 10 times a year, it makes no sense for me to be paying for a blog (yes, I know, whatever). Right now, I'm testing out a few platforms, and once a final decision has been made, I'll be posting a link to the new address and allowing my subscription to this one expire.
I hope whatever readers I might have decide to make the jump with me, wherever that may be. I'm trying to remind myself how much I loved writing back in the day, and encourage myself to write more. Hopefully, that will translate into more (and better) posts in the future. Stay tuned!
Earlier this week, our awesome photographers posted our Day After session on their blog. They turned out so much better than I thought they would! Here's one of my favorites:

My favorite ones are probably the ones at the ruins. The architecture makes them really interesting, and the wide angles don't show how tired (and sweaty!) we were! Anyway, much love to Tiffany and her husband. They were amazing to work with, and such fun, laid back people. Tiffany if you're reading this, I heart you!
Not a whole lot, actually. Working, slowly (and do I mean slowly) updating accounts with my new name, bugging the crap out of K... Nothing all that out of the ordinary. So this is going to be a post full of random little things that have been going on, each of which is too small to have its own post.
Due to the insane price wars between Barnes & Noble and Amazon 2 weeks ago, I am now the happy owner of a Kindle. It is wonderful. Life changing even! And I even got a really pretty cover to protect it from stuff:
Since we got married, K and I have been talking about working on the house and making it look more like grown-ups live here. We got a new coffee table over Memorial Day weekend, and now we have our sights set on a new couch. Ours is a cheap sectional from Ikea, and we'd really like to upgrade it to something cottage-y and super comfy. While looking at stuff to complete our registry, we found this one, which we will get for 10% off (yay Pottery Barn!):
Yesterday, K dragged me to the gym. He's been doing Crossfit for the last 6 months or so, and for some reason seems to think I'm interested in strength training. Yeah, not so much. I must have looked pretty interesting doing all these exercises with an empty weight bar.
And finally, over the weekend, I went to Mandeville, LA with my friend Lindsey for her hometown baby shower. It was an interesting trip, to say the least. Oooh and I had beignets! and they were tasty!
Our wedding photographers haven't blogged our wedding photos yet, nor have they sent them to us. This isn't a contractual issue, as their contract says we'll get them 4-6 weeks after the event, and we're just starting the 3rd week. No, I'm not afraid that we won't get our photos. What I am afraid of is that they haven't blogged them b/c they're terrible. One photo did make it onto their website as a preview, but it's one where we're tiny and the scenery is the main attraction. And that's just making my fears worse. See, Kenley and I aren't so good with the posing and looking nice for the camera. We make faces. Lots of faces. And while they're cute in real life, scrunched up noses and pretending to bite the other's nose off probably doesn't make a great photograph.
**Disclaimer: If you are easily offended by a lot of frickin' cursing and/or own a BMW 1-series, maybe you shouldn't read this. Just saying...
Everyone says their city has the worst drivers. But I say Houston has the worst, only because there are more luxury cars per capita here than anywhere, and for some reason, all the asshats that drive them seem to think that owning an expensive car makes them exempt from following the rules of driving. Uh, not so much.
As I drove to work the other day, some bitch in a BMW 135i decides that a good time to pass the person in front of her is while in the on-ramp from Shepherd to Memorial. The ramp turns into its own lane (for those unfamiliar), so it's not like she had a limited amount of pavement in which to merge into my lane. Oh no, she had miles, but being the super important bitchass that she is, she needed to get around this guy RIGHTNOW, cars in the next lane (me) be damned!
If I were still driving my old car, I would totally just have let this douchebag hit me. But as I love Sofie (yes, I named my car), I refrained from following my natural inclinations. Seriously though. You drive a 1-series! That's not even a good car! You could have gotten a much better vehicle, dare I say a cooler vehicle, for the same amount of money. But no, you are an insufferable asshat and you wanted to be able to tell your friends, "Yeah, I just bought myself a brand new BMW." But guess what?! Jokes on you! A BMW 1-series costs the same as my car! Your entitlement is void! VOID! You, lady? You are a douchebag.
